FAQs

How do I make a booking / consultation?

Please find our contact details at the bottom of the page, or visit us in studio at 6/47 Jonson Street Byron Bay. When contacting us, please provide your first and last name, email and phone number, along with a picture of what you’re after, the placement and the size in centimetres. We offer free consultations in studio, or via email. You must be 18 or over to get a tattoo, and ID will be required on the day of your appointment. We accept parental consent for under 18’s. Unfortunately we cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and each client must fill out a waiver outlining any medical conditions or considerations before getting any work done.

Do your Artists have long wait lists?

This depends on the individual Artist, and the size of your chosen piece. Availability can range from a same-day appointment, to a few months. It is always worth checking your chosen Artists availability though, as appointments can move around daily. We often have Artists available for small walk in pieces mid-week.

Do you require a deposit?

A deposit is required to secure a booking. If an appointment needs to be cancelled before 48 hours before the appointment then the deposit can be refunded, but if the cancellation is within 48 hours of the appointment the deposit will be lost. If you need to reschedule your appointment your deposit will stay valid for the new appointment time, however if it needs to be rescheduled a second time the deposit will be lost. The amounts depend upon the size and scope of work, but generally amount to 100$ for small pieces, 150$ for a half day, and 300$ for a full day booking. We can accept cash, debit, or credit card, and the deposit goes towards your final balance. No shows and being over 15 minutes late to the appointment will result in lost deposits. Any appointment changes must be given a minimum of 48 hours notice.

Will I see a Design before my appointment?

This depends upon the Artist. Designs are always ready for viewing at the time of appointment, with plenty of time to make changes with your Artist. Placement and size can also be adjusted at time of appointment as well. Some of our Artists specialise in freehand, which means the designs are drawn directly on to the skin, in order to work best with the body contours.

How do I choose an Artist?

If your piece is non-specific to an Artist, ie) using your own design/script/numerals/symbols, we have regular availability for small pieces with our resident Artists, all of whom have experience with thin line work. If you are looking for a custom piece, we suggest familiarising yourself with each Artists portfolio, and you will better find what you are looking for.

How should I prepare for a Tattoo?

A good breakfast or solid meal at least 2 hours before your appointment is strongly recommended. Too much alcohol the night before is not a good idea, as it can thin the blood and can cause additional sensitivity and bleeding at the Tattoo site. Please be aware that we will strictly not Tattoo anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We will shave the Tattoo site for you, please do not do this yourself. We politely ask that joining friends and partners are limited, as we have strict Covid limitations in place.

Are there any body parts you do not Tattoo?

We Tattoo every part of the body, however some parts (hands, fingers, palms, foot sole, inner lip) are not recommended and outlined as problematic placements in the waiver you sign before being tattooed, negating our responsibility for correct Tattoo healing.

Do you do Body Piercing?

We are currently a Tattoo only Studio, but possibly in the future.

Which Ink Brands do you use, and are any of them vegan?

We use Dynamic Black, Intenze, Eternal Ink, and Starbright. All of these inks are vegan. If you have a specific artist in mind enquire for them specifically as some artists do use other brands.

Can I use numbing cream?

We do not recommend using numbing cream as it can sometimes make the skin harder to Tattoo, and effect how it heals.

What are your opening times?

We are currently trading 7 days a week, 10am - 5pm. First appointments start at 10am, and last appointments depend on how long the piece will take.
